The subject of monography Education, Intervention and Therapy for People with Physical Impairment from the Perspective of Development. Theory, research and practice is formulation of the education of people with physical impairment as one of the specializations of special needs education and pedagogy itself. The topic approach is diverse and includes the author´s lifelong experience and knowledge from pedagogy, special and inclusive education and other fields of science, i.e. medicine, psychology, philosophy and sociology which are closely related to education and training of individuals with physical impairment. The submitted monography is a synthesis of the existing research and academic works reflecting author´s involvement in education sphere and healthcare. It also deals with society changes in the Czech Republic and effects of the worldwide trends in education and training of people with physical and multiple impairment. It includes the complete process of human life, from birth to old age, with the emphasis on depicting and analysis of the particular periods of life of person with physical impairment. The monography defines and analyses the sequences from the perspective of educational approach concerning the specifics of the age – early years, pre-school and school age, adolescents, adults and seniors. The monography is consisted of seven chapters, which are systematically structured according to the content. The topic of the first three chapters is theoretical concepts of physical impairment, medical and psychological aspects of physical impairment. The fourth chapter deals with motor development of healthy child and defines the particular movement disorders in pre-school and school age. The fifth chapter focuses on the analyses of the educational process of individuals with physical impairment during their lives. The sixth chapter describes inclusive education, teaching process and didactics. The following chapter illustrates the specific difficulties of physical impairment and multiple handicap in terms of psychic impact on the pupil, setting of intervention and teaching support. These criteria are defined by individual evaluation of pupil´s life situation with use of special educational diagnostic. The monography Education, Intervention and Therapy for People with Physical Impairment from the Perspective of Development is intended to professionals and general public as well as young generation of students.
