With the development of tourism occurs to overload of tourist destinations, causes increasing greenhouse gas emissions, and waste production. This is considered as one of the most serious global issues, right after the lack of water. One option of the exective dealing of corporate waste is the implementation of a waste management strategy in corporate governance. The aim was to compare development of waste production and recycling in the EU regions with emphasis on Czech Republic and compare the approach of Czech companies in tourism on waste management. Based on analysis can be stated that number of wastes gradually decreases, the share of waste recycling on a European scale is increasing.
