TY - JOUR ID - 41413 AU - Török, Gabriel - Stuchlík, Zdeněk - Bakala, Pavel PY - 2007 TI - A remark about possible unity of the neutron star and black hole high frequency QPOs JF - CENTRAL EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF PHYSICS VL - 5 IS - 4 SP - 457-462 EP - 457-462 PB - VERSITA SN - 18951082 KW - X-rays KW - binaries KW - accretion KW - accretion discs KW - stars KW - neutron N2 - In a series of papers it was discussed, on the basis of phenomenological arguments, whether the high frequency quasiperiodic oscillations (kHz QPOs) observed in the neutron-star and black-hole X-ray sources originate in the same physical mechanism. Recently it was suggested that a general trend seen in neutron star kHz QPOs instead excludes such a uniform origin. Using the example of the atoll source 4U 1636-53 we illustrate that this is not neccesarily true. (C) Versita Warsaw and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. All rights reserved. ER -
