Teoretická studie se zaměřuje na jednoho z nejvýznamnějších představitelů oboru somatopedie v České republice – Františka Bakuleho, z jehož učitelské praxe vychovatele a pedagoga pro děti a mládež s tělesným postižením můžeme čerpat mnoho zkušeností i dnes. Byl silně ovlivněn novými pedagogickými proudy, mezi které patřila například pedagogika osobnosti, volná škola, sociální pedagogika, činná škola, hnutí za uměleckou výchovu. Cílem této studie je analyzovat život a dílo Františka Bakuleho, zakladatele Bakulova ústavu pro výchovu životem a prací.

Theoretical study focuses on one of the most important representatives in the field of somatopaedia in the Czech Republic, František Bakule, whose teaching practice of tutor and educator for children and youth with physical impairments can draw many experiences even today. He was influenced significantly by new pedagogical currents, including personalities pedagogy, free school, social pedagogy, active school, art education movement. The aim of this study is to analyze the life and work of František Bakule, the founder of the Bakule Institute for Life and Work Education.
