Deutsch geschriebene Zeitungen stellen für den Deutschunterricht ein vielfältiges Material dar. Gemeint sind damit nicht nur verschiedene journalistische und nichtjournalistische Textsorten und bildliches Material, sondern auch die abwechslungsreiche Ausdrucksweise und das Vorkommen von sprachlichen Mitteln aller fünf Kommunikationsbereiche. Das Ziel des Beitrags ist zu zeigen, wie wichtig es ist, im Fremdsprachenunterricht authentische Texte zu verwenden und wie gut sich dazu gerade Zeitungstexte eignen.

Newspapers issued in German present a useful material for German language lessons. The paper does not only discuss various journalistic and non-journalistic text types and picture material but also the variety of means of expression as well as occurrences of language means from all the five modes of communication. The paper aims to show how important it is for the language teacher to make use of authentic texts and that newspaper texts are a good choice for the purpose.
