The workshop focused on the history and present of the Vietnamese and Mongolian minorities in the Czech lands. The attention of the speakers was focused mainly on methodological issues of understanding and defining ethnicity in the case of given minorities, as well as on the evaluation of the state and perspectives of research. The workshop also included a presentation of Jindřich Štreit's exhibition of photographs "People from afar" and an exhibition catalog.
