Studie pojednává o problematice civilní protiletecké ochrany v období první republiky v letech 1929-1938. Zpočátku je analyzován současný stav bádání, přičemž následuje přehled pramenů ke studiu civilní protiletecké ochrany. Následuje kapitola zabývající se leteckou válkou a bombardovacím letectvem ve spojitosti s užitím trhavých, zápalných a plynových pum proti civilnímu obyvatelstvu. Jednou z hlavních částí studie je analýza problematiky aktivní obrany proti letadlům (OPL). Klíčová část studie pojednává o pasivní ochraně proti leteckým útokům, neboli civilní protiletecké ochraně (CPO), která byla uzákoněna 11. dubna 1935, přičemž se zaměřuje na její legislativní stránku, organizaci a její služby, a to v rámci jejího postupného vývoje. Důraz je kladen zejména na služby CPO a jejich detailní popis. Poslední část práce se zabývá První školou protiletecké ochrany se sídlem v Olomouci-Lutíně, která byla specializovanou institucí zabývající se teoretickou i praktickou výchovou v otázkách ochrany proti leteckým útokům. Tato instituce zároveň úzce spolupracovala s firmou Chema, taktéž se sídlem v Olomouci-Lutíně. Dílčí závěr studie poté analyzuje silné a slabé stránky civilní protiletecké ochrany, které analyzují připravenost CPO na nadcházející válečný konflikt.

The study deals with the topic of the development of the Civil Air Defence so called in Czech civilní protiletecká ochrana (CPO) in the First Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1929-1938. At the beginning of the entry the emphasis is put on the situation of the research in the present days and the problematics connected with the historical sources required for the study of the CPO. The introduction to the problematics of the air raids follows together with the description of the bombers and the air raids against the civilians using fragmentation, incendiary and chemical bombs. The main part of the entry analysis the problematics of the active and passive defence against the airplanes in Czech so called obrana proti letadlům (OPL). The main core of the entry analyses the CPO, that was enacted on the 11th of April 1935, furthermore the legislation, organization of its services and its sequential development. The emphasis is put on the services of the CPO and its detailed description. Then follows the chapter describing the specialised school teaching about the problematics of air-raids, in Czech První škola protiletecké ochrany with its headquarters in Olomouc-Lutín. This institution educated in the theoretical and practical subjects focused on the problematics of air-raids. This institution closely cooperated with the Chema factory also with headquarters in Olomouc-Lutín. In the final part of the entry the strenghts and weaknesses analysing the preparedness of the CPO for the air-raids in the impending war are outlined.
