Cestovní ruch je nejen mnohostranným odvětvím a součástí ekonomik jednotlivých zemí, ale také ukazatelem životní úrovně obyvatelstva, kdy se cestovní ruch podílí na všestranném rozvoji člověka, včetně motivace k získání jazykových znalostí. Podobné to je také v ČR. Příspěvek se věnuje problematice cestovního ruchu v ČR v letech 2012 – 2018. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je zhodnotit vývoj cestovního ruchu v ČR ve vybraném období na základě vybraných statistických údajů cestovního ruchu. Rok 2018 byl pro ČR rekordní v počtu turistů, kdy se ubytovalo 21,3 milionu hostů, což bylo o 6,4 procenta více než v roce 2017. Počet domácích a zahraničních hostů byl téměř vyrovnaný.

Tourism is not only a multilateral sector and part of the economies of individual countries, but also an indicator of the standard of living of the population, where tourism contributes to the human development, including the motivation to acquire language skills. Similar it is also in the Czech Republic (CR). The paper deals with the issue of tourism in the CR in 2012 - 2018. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the development of tourism in the CR in the selected period on the basis of selected statistics of tourism. The year 2018 was a record year for the CR, with 21.3 million guests staying, which was 6.4 percent more than in year 2017. The number of domestic and foreign tourists was almost equal.
