The Post mine belonged to one of the tree main areas of the historical mining district near town Zlaté Hory, (Cukmantl) called Horní and Dolní Neufang. The first historical mentions of the local mines come from the first half of the 14th century. The beginnigs of mining in the Post mine (original name was The Holy Trinity Mine) can be assumed on the basis of written sources no later than 16th and the 17th century, when the main mined raw material was sulphide ore for the production of vitriol. Archeological research during sanation and recultivation of The Post mine brought many wooden artefacts preserved here due to hight humidity. There were also found parts of the water extraction equipment which was described in plan from 1770 by A. Habtmann. These are parts of the wheel (parts of the side frame, struts, blades), flatrod system (rockers and rods), pipes and gutters, boxes made of planks, as well as various beams (prisms, trunks, half-trunks) and wedges. Other artefacts include ladders, borrows, small washtub, flambeau and leather boots.
