Abstract

V originále

This paper examines the latest play by British author Martin McDonagh A Very Very Very Dark Matter (2018). It focuses on the themes that provoked controversial reactions to the author’s work, namely: racism, ableism, and stereotyping of characters. It also deals with the modern approaches in this play, based on the neuroscientific research in the dramatic field. The aim is to analyse the dramatic and textual devices with which modern plays attempt to broaden the understanding of the world and deepen the scheme of communication between the author and the theatregoing audience or readers.
