Bob Dylan has often been called the Shakespeare of popular music and has become a classic of American literature and culture. The paper discusses the representation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet in Dylan’s oeuvre, focusing on the dialogue between the original and Dylan’s take on the classic, demonstrating the centrality of Hamlet in Dylan’s life and artistic production.
