Abstract (in English)
The edition of memoirs of Jan (1846–1927) and Miloš (1884–1958) Čeleda brings authentic memories of two members of a family of wholesale tea businessmen from Opava – Jan Čeleda and his son Miloš Čeleda. The memoirs of Jan Čeleda have only been preserved in a typewritten copy of his own telling of the events from the years 1871–1911. The memoirs of Miloš Čeleda have been preserved in a handwritten manuscript in a notebook. Jan‘s stories unfold chronologically. Their core lies in the events in Opava in the 1870s and 1880s, whereas the most important moments of Miloš‘s stories are the descriptions of his own experiences from the times of WWI and WWII. Due to the fact that Miloš Čeleda kept his dairy up to the year 1951, the memories of both brothers cover altogether seven decades, which is the length of one human life.
