The main topic of the event (summer school for students) were the life strategies of women and their changing position in the pre-Modern society considering especially the situations when they were forced to play a role that was not primarily intended for women – with emphasis on sources and their correct interpretation. The aim of the workshop was not only to acquaint students with the roots of existing gender stereotypes and with the beginnings of women's emancipation, but also to teach them to how to proceed when interpreting various types of written sources.
