Anotace
Eines von Friedrich Dürrenmatts Meisterwerken, das Theaterstück ‚Der Besuch der alten Dame‘, ist durch seine nahezu kontrovers wirkenden Leitgedanken weltbekannt geworden. Die Ausdruckskraft der in drei Akte gegliederten Handlung dieses Werks wird vor allem durch eine illusionsbrechende sprachliche Form dargestellt. Durch sehr präzise gewählte Sachverhalte und das Handeln der exakt eingesetzten Figuren und Situationen schockiert die tragische Komödie und steigert die Aufmerksamkeit zugleich. Dieser Artikel analysiert die sprachliche Aussagekraft einzelner ausgewählter Abschnitte und versucht das Genre der tragischen Komödie näherzubringen. Dürrenmatt erweitert mit einer gezielten Nutzung sprachlicher Möglichkeiten, die er in diesem Werk zum Einsatz bringt, die Grenzen des ironischen Erzählens (Prange 2015, S. 39).

The expressive power of the plot of this work, which is divided into three acts, is primarily realised through an illusion-breaking linguistic form. This article analyses the linguistic expressiveness of individual selected passages and attempts to give an understanding of the genre of tragic comedy. Dürrenmatt expands the boundaries of ironic storytelling with the targeted use of linguistic possibilities that he utilises in this work (Prange 2015, p. 39).
