Abstract
V originále
This article focuses on the most common stereotype connected to Romani people – the practicing of magic. It explains the origins of the practices and practices themselves and the connection to people of Roma origin. There is a brief history of Roma people to better understanding of adapting magical techniques for the livelihood. As Roma are considered to be shrouded by mysteries, they were inspiration for literary texts and even nowadays stories containing this ethnicity emerge. From the literary perspective, they appear in modern books such as in Stephen King’s Thinner or Louise Doughty’s Stone Cradle. Apart from Roma culture or history, there are also occultist techniques included which are primary topic of the article.
