In the contribution, the author pays attention to selected problems of electoral democracyat the municipal level, which the law regulation does not consistently solve (the author callsthem illogicalities), thereby loosing their original point, or they lose their persuasivenessbased on the constitutional principle of democracy. Gradually, in the indicated spirit, heanalyzes the voting card, the institute of independent candidates, the crime of electoral corruption, the removal of the mayor of the municipality in the form of a voter´s petition, as well as the impossibility of terminating the activity of the municipal council before the end of its election period. In all cases, the author indicates and justifies possible solutions to the analyzed problems.
