Abstract |
---|

Abstract (in English) |

In the summary, there is a general reflection on the imaging of the world in the Middle Ages, which is a unique phenomenon for this era (maps such as those created in this era were unknown neither in antiquity nor in modern times). This leads to reflection on the existence of two political concepts: the Roman one - based on the rule over territory (the Roman Empire with its provinces), and the biblical or Jerusalem one, where the emphasis is on people, with the concept of the nation at the forefront (history of the nation). The history of Europe (not only in the Middle Ages) is a constant clash of these two orders. |
