Text nastiňuje proces konstitucionalizace gerontagogiky jako samostatné pedagogické, respektive andragogické disciplíny reflektující specifika výchovy a vzdělávání ve vyšším věku. Identifikuje cíle, znaky a instituce vzdělávání seniorů, nastiňuje přístupy ke vzdělávání seniorů, funkce edukace seniorů a podrobně se zabývá specifiky seniorů jako účastníků vzdělávání.

The text outlines the process of constitutionalization of gerontagogy as an independent pedagogical or andragogic discipline reflecting the specifics of upbringing and education in older age. It identifies the goals, characteristics and institutions of senior education, outlines approaches to senior education, the functions of senior education and deals in detail with the specifics of seniors as participants in education.
