Housing Public service in the Czech Republic is performed in the public interest, for the benefit of the subjects. In the field of social policy it would be the needy citizens. The public service is provided, or ordered and paid for by an organisational unit of the state or a municipality, region, i.e. a self-governing territorial unit through established or established entities (e.g. care service). The aim of the paper is to present the results of the research (period 6-9 months 2024), to shed light on the position of the municipality (public corporation) as a public guardian in the performance of this activity, pointing out possible pitfalls associated with the provision of this public service. In order to evaluate the found evidence, an inductive method will be used, generating opinions on the solution to the performance of the tasks set for the municipalities for the activity of the public guardian.
