Studie vznikla na základě analýzy českých turistických průvodců či informativních textů publikovaných v českém jazyce o Polsku. Šlo ovšem o zachycení postavení Katovic v těchto materiálech a doporučení „míst paměti“ v této hornoslezské metropoli. Evidentní byl posun od naprostého nezájmu o ryze industriální město v minulosti až po doporučující návštěvy atraktivního turistického střediska nyní.
In English
The study is based on an analysis of Czech tourist guides or informative texts published in Czech about Poland. However, it was about capturing the position of Katowice in these materials and recommending "places of memory" in this Upper Silesian metropolis. A shift from a complete lack of interest in the purely industrial city in the past to recommending visits to the attractive tourist centre now was evident.
