Příspěvek se zaměří konkrétně na dva zločince, jejichž životy a kariéry byly spjaty s regionem severní Moravy a Slezska. Na příkladu dvou lidských osudů, které budeme sledovat zejména prostřednictvím vybraných pramenů soudní provenience, se tato drobná sonda do kriminality regionu v první polovině 20. století pokusí poukázat na některé specifické fenomény – pestrou škálu pramenného materiálu pro sledování kriminality v první polovině 20. století, mobilitu kriminálních živlů v tomto období a možnosti, jak ji sledovat, otázku působení prožitku velké války a sledování jejích důsledků na životech válečných veteránů i společnosti, do které se vraceli, a v neposlední řadě také fenomén fascinace společensky zavrženíhodným jednáním, která se projevovala v námětech oblíbených rubrik na stránkách regionálního tisku.

The article will focus specifically on two criminals whose lives and careers were connected to the region of Northern Moravia and Silesia. Using the example of two human destinies, which we will follow mainly through selected sources of judicial provenance, this small probe into the crime of the region in the first half of the 20th century will attempt to point out some specific phenomena - a diverse range of source material for monitoring crime in the first half of the 20th century, the mobility of criminal elements in this period and the possibilities of how to monitor it, the question of the impact of the experience of the Great War and monitoring its consequences on the lives of war veterans and the society to which they returned, and last but not least, the phenomenon of fascination with socially reprehensible behavior, which was manifested in the topics of popular columns in the pages of the regional press.
