Zpráva, uveřejněná v sekci Aktuality na webových stránkách Filozoficko-přírodovědecké fakulty Slezské univerzity v Opavě, informuje o odborné přednášce PhDr. Mariána Sojáka, PhD. ze Slovenské akademie věd, která se uskutečnila dne 9. října 2025 na Oddělení archeologie ÚHV FPF v Opavě. Přednáška s názvem „Špecifická osídlenia horských a podhorských regiónov Karpát v dobách kamenných“ byla věnována památce doc. PhDr. Vratislava Janáka, CSc. Dr. Soják představil nejnovější výsledky výzkumů pravěkého osídlení karpatských oblastí, zaměřené především na paleolit a mezolit, a upozornil na význam tzv. periferních sídelních oblastí. Zdůraznil také přínos interdisciplinárního přístupu a moderních přírodovědných metod v archeologii. Akce přinesla inspirativní diskuzi mezi studenty a odborníky a významně obohatila výuku archeologie na Slezské univerzitě v Opavě.

The report, published in the News section of the Faculty of Philosophy and Science, Silesian University in Opava, covers a scholarly lecture by Dr. Marián Soják, PhD. from the Slovak Academy of Sciences, held on October 9, 2025, at the Department of Archaeology, Institute of Historical Sciences. The lecture, titled “Specific Settlements in the Mountain and Foothill Regions of the Carpathians During the Stone Ages,” was dedicated to the memory of Assoc. Prof. Vratislav Janák, PhDr., CSc. Dr. Soják presented the latest archaeological research on prehistoric settlement in the Carpathian region, focusing mainly on the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods, and emphasized the importance of so-called peripheral settlement zones. He also highlighted the role of interdisciplinary research and modern scientific methods in reconstructing prehistoric environments and human behaviour. The event fostered an inspiring discussion among students and scholars and contributed to the enrichment of archaeological education at the Silesian University in Opava.
