Abstract

In the original language

Nowadays, it is increasingly common for parents to overprotect their children from the world, which can complicate both diagnosis and treatment. They also often—consciously or unconsciously—alter the information they give to doctors. Whether out of fear, shame, or an effort to protect their child from an unpleasant examination, they embellish, downplay, or exaggerate symptoms. The work of a pediatrician thus takes place not only on a medical level, but also in the delicate field of relationships and trust, which must be constantly built with both the young patient and their parents...
