1 343 This review article briefly presents 140 years of research on the Baroque art of the Jesuits in Kłodzko. It remained closely linked to the achievements in the towns and villages surrounding Kłodzko, which belonged to the post-war aristocracy, many of whom were donors to the Kłodzko College. This art was insufficiently understood in the context of the rest of the Czech Republic, and after World War II, the ahistorical, even absurd, paradigm of a "Silesian Kłodzko" actually burdened the work of Polish art historians. Over the past 30 years, this paradigm has been challenged. However, Czech researchers remain relatively indifferent to the Kłodzko Baroque. Meanwhile, a still under-researched phenomenon of this art is the existence of a collection of over 200 design drawings from the 17th and 18th centuries left by the Jesuits (including works by Simon Pitz and Carl Luraga). This collection was dispersed after 1945. The majority of the collection is held in the Jesuit archives in Kraków, while a smaller, recently discovered collection is located in the rectory of the parish church in Kłodzko. Both of these collections require comprehensive analysis, primarily in the form of a scholarly catalogue, especially since their separation is entirely artificial and accidental. Furthermore, the Kłodzko collection remains uninventoried (the drawings lack reference numbers), and the entire collection constitutes Czech cultural heritage outside the Czech Republic.
