The paper presents a comparison of two methods of production scheduling within flow systems. The methods: branch and bound (B&B) and Campbell-Dudek-Smith (CDS) are included. Optimal schedules were set for the compared methods. In addition, permutations were established to minimize the criterion Cmax of optimality of the schedule. The advantages and disadvantages of the discussed approaches in the area of optimal scheduling of production tasks are indicated.
