Předkládaná studie se věnuje rozvoji poštovní sítě a poštovních služeb v Opavě a na Opavsku v období krátce po vzniku Československa a ve 20. letech, kdy se nově formoval správní obvod poštovního ředitelství v Opavě. Studie mapuje síť různých typů poštovních služeben v Opavě a na Opavsku (pošty, zájemnické poštovní úřady, poštovny), všímá si zejména rozšiřování a dílčích inovací poštovních služeb (autodoprava, vlaková pošta, telefonizace, radiofikace, modernizace poštovních budov a jejich vybavení). Dotýká se rovněž některých národnostních aspektů v poštovním provozu na národnostně smíšeném území.

This study focuses on the development of the postal network and postal services in Opava and the Opava region shortly after the establishment of Czechoslovakia and in the 1920s, when the administrative district of the postal headquarters in Opava was newly formed. The study maps the network of various types of postal services in Opava and the Opava region (post offices, postal agencies, post offices), noting in particular the expansion and partial innovations of postal services (road transport, train mail, telephone, radio, modernization of postal buildings and their equipment). It also touches on some nationality aspects of postal operations in ethnically mixed areas.
