We consider a class of effective SU(2) gauge theories with adjoint scalar and study analytic single monopole solutions in the Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) limit. We first review the recently introduced subclass of exact solutions that generalize the usual't Hooft-Polyakov monopole and then present a new subclass of exact solutions with the interesting property of possessing an internal degree of freedom.
