Seminář navazuje na přednášku ze Základů lexikologie. Na cvičeních i formou samostatné práce si studenti ověřují praktické poznatky z lexikologické teorie v souladu se strukturou přednášek. Rozšířenou pozornost věnují osvojení povahy významové struktury apelativ a sémantického vývoje, postupu procesu tvorby proprií od apelativ i apelativizaci proprií a zásadám lexikografických přístupů v minulosti a současnosti.
