- Course objectives
- On successful completion of the class, students will have been introduced to techniques and good practices promoting efficient translation process. The class?s primary objective is to outline and explain the principles and methods hidden behind translation software packages, which if applied correctly, allow translators to achieve and maintain overall quality and consistency of target texts. Students will have also been pointed to specialised associations of experts in the field and encouraged to learn more independently. Students shall be required to work on their own project portfolio that will be assessed towards the end of semester.

- Students will be divided in groups of 2 or 3 people. During this course, students should acquire necessary theoretical knowledge and practical experience of working with certain software tools, designed to help translators with their job. See below the 4 steps you have to complete for being awarded credits:
1. Compilation of a domain specific corpus
2. Text alignment
3. Termbase compilation
4. Presentation (applies only to full-time students)
