- Course objectives
- Students will become familiar with other programs and tools under Windows, works with the operating system UNIX/Linux, PC protection against viruses and attacks. They will learn to process simple graphical tasks. Learn some basics knowledge and work with multimedia files, burn CDs and DVDs. Learn some basics knowledge and work with compression programs.
- Syllabus
- Advanced work under Windows. Basic user settings and system maintenance. Working with programs for burning CDs, DVD, CD, DVD. Basics of Microsoft Access. Basics of Internet (WWW, FTP, Email, chat programs), search on the Internet.
Auxiliary programs and utilities for Windows. Zoner Media Explorer, Ghostscript/Ghostview, Acrobat Reader, create PDF files, Acrobat Professional, Norton Utilities. Easy to edit images using Zoner Media Explorer. Codecs and media players, MP3, AVI, MPEG.
Basics of the graphical interface of the Linux operating system.
Archiving files using compression programs ARJ, ZIP, RAR, etc.
Working with Total Comander and Midnight Comander.
