Course objectives
Students will acquire basic knowledge of network protocols and routing services (OSPF, BGPv4, Traffic Shaping & QoS (IP Packet Prioritization), IGMP, VRRP, RSVP, and IPSEC VPN, NAT, PAT and DHCP, network management and routing packets 2, 3 and four layers.
Syllabus
  • Basic configuration protocol suite TCP/IP
    Protocols and Services: BGP4, Traffic Shaping & QoS (IP Packet Prioritization ), IGMP, VRRP, RSVP, and IPSEC VPN.
    Protocol RIP2 and routing in the networks 2, 3 and 4, the network layer.
    Network Management via SNMP protocol.
    Services NAT, PAT, DHCP and DNS.
    DHCP: detailed description of message formats DHCP message exchange between clients and DHCP servers, finding and fixing problems, cooperation between DHCP and DNS system, description of DHCP servers and clients from ISC and Microsoft DHCP for IPv6
    DNS: DNS protocol, Vita RR, DNS Query packet format DNS query, the DNS query packet header, authoritative servers, reverse and inverse query, transmission methods RR records in DNS packet, record types, DNS for IPv6
    The inner mechanisms of action router : basic types of routing protocols routing protocols with distance vector (distance-vector routing protocols) and routing protocols with the status line (link -state routing protocols)
    Routing protocols: RIP, RIP-2, OSPF, IGRP and EIGRP
    Implementation of routing technologies: IPv6 and IPSec

80% attendence in seminars.
Elaboration of seminar papers from exercise and homeworks.
50% successful completion of a written and oral examination.
