- Course objectives
- Students will acquire knowledge in the field of research and evaluation of relations museum to his audience and a basic knowledge in marketing of the museum. Students will be acquainted with the theory of communication, interpretive strategies and techniques, exposure assessment, the use of new technologies and digital media in communications, the role of different types of museums in the sustainable development of society.
- Syllabus
- 1. Museums and audience.
2. Characteristics of museum visitors. Demographic and psychological factors. Motivation visitors.
3. Research the museum audience. Sources of information about visitors. Types of research.
4. Techniques and tools for information retrieval. Questionnaire survey. Personal interviews. Group interviews. Observation and monitoring. The study documents.
5. Testing and evaluation of exposures.
6. Preparation and execution of research museum audience. Problem analysis and specification of research goals. A research plan. Data collection. Processing and analysis of the data .
7. Evaluation research audience and visitors to the museum. Evaluation of information obtained by questionnaire survey.
8. Communication with the public. The use of new technologies and digital media in communications.
9. Public relations and marketing communications. Barriers in relation museum and its visitors.
10. Museum and tourism.
11. Sustainable development of society.
12. The role of museums, ecomuseum and community museums in the sustainable development of society.
