Course objectives

The lecture is offered a body of knowledge that make up the theoretical basis for acquiring identification documents. Lectures are focused on familiarization with the development of cataloging theory, familiarization with current cataloging standards and methodology for name cataloging. The emphasis is on the development of cataloging theory of cataloguing policy in the Czech Republic. Seminary: The seminars are acquired practical experience creating universal bibliographic record, including modifications to this record for different types of documents in AKIS CLAVIUS and ALEPH. There are also exercises focused on the use of external sources for the creation of catalogue entries, creation of authority is practiced header using a set of national authorities.

Criteria for mastery of the class credit:
Form of examination: written test

test is focused on library standards for cataloging
Students are entitled to a repair credit test
Credit can be obtained at the end of the credit week of the year

participate in the trial is subject to the credit
students are entitled to a patch test
Testing of the course will be completed by 30 June of calendar year.
