Course objectives
In this course, students will gain both practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of computer security. This course provides the student with fundamental knowledge of network and operation system security. Topics to be covered include various options of protecting against security threats.
Syllabus
  • - Protection against the computer data and passwords theft and damage.
    - Attacker's strategy during the net attacks.
    - WWW and FTP server Protection.
    - Network monitoring, firewalls, DoS attacks, attacks by means taking over the control.
    - Authenticity.
    - Redundancy.
    - Viruses, worms and Trojan horses.
    - Password cracking.
    - SSH, SSL, Kerberos, MDA5.
    - Radius and IAS verification systems.
    - VPN.
    - WEP and WPA.
