Course objectives

Present development and current state of cataloguing theory, to introduce basic norms in force in the Czech environment, outline the body of knowledge relevant to the management of input processing documents. Standards for naming processes: ISBD, AACR2, UNIMARC.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• 1. Metodika zpracování dokumentů
  2. Základní charakteristika popisné jednotky a pramenů popisu
  3. Pomůcky při tvorba katalogizačních záznamů
  4. Rámcové postupy tvorby katalogizačních záznamů
  5. Všeobecná metodika jmenné katalogizace
  6. Struktura a forma záznamu dokumentu (identifikační záznam)
  7. Tvorba jmenného záhlaví, popis pod individuálním autorem, popis pod názvem, popis pod korporativním autorem, zvláštní případy popisu dokumentů
  8. Všeobecné zásady tvorby popisných údajů
  9. Všeobecný mezinárodní standardní popis (ISBD) - specifikace údajů
