Course objectives
The theory of nonlinear dynamics or chaos has been developed explosively in recent years and has wide application in all areas of physics and computer science. The aim of the course is to present basic knowledge of deterministic chaos and dynamical systems in general. An introduction to mathematical concepts and techniques will be given and demonstrated in Mathematica - Wolfram Research software system.
Syllabus
  • * nonlinear dynamics in physics and computer science
    * numerical methods for solving differential equations
    * imaging and treating the nonlinear systems
    * introduction to the Hamiltonian formalism
    * regular systems with perturbation
