Course objectives
The course introduces students to the basic methods of processing and presentation of environmental data. Students will also gain information about the possibilities of using geographic information systems and data obtained by remote sensing of the Earth. The course can be taught in the form of seminar papers.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- use basic methods of processing and presentation of environmental data,
describe the possibilities of using geographic information systems, - use data obtained from remote sensing of the Earth.
Syllabus
  • 1. Use of information systems in environmental monitoring.
  • 2. Environmental information systems in air protection.
  • 3. Environmental information systems in soil protection 4. Environmental information systems in water protection.
  • 5. Environmental information systems in nature and landscape protection.
  • 6. National and foreign information systems and databases on the state of the environment.
  • 7. Remote sensing of the Earth and the possibilities of its use in various scientific disciplines 8. Use of information systems in the assessment of ecological and environmental risks 9. Use of geographic information systems in the field of environmental protection.
