Course objectives
Practical training in tourism establishments contributes to higher motivation of the students to employ the knowledge and skills acquired during lectures and seminars and hence to improve possibilities of their employment. The practical training will take place at tourism information centres, tour operators or travel agents, sights and museum, or as the case may be in town or regional authorities at the departments of regional development. The students will have the possibility to practise the acquired knowledge and skills in contractual establishments, to get acquainted with the process of a standard trip preparation, activities of a guide and exchange services. The students will practise the techniques of tour/holiday sale, booking by means of reservation programmes, accounting and transfer of takings. The aim is to provide the students with the basic skills of providing particular tourism services as well as encourage the development of their managerial and organisational abilities.
