Course objectives
The seminar introduces students to the basics of the field of dramatic education and its starting points and basic principles. It will include basic orientation in historical contexts, important dates and events related to the field. Students will get to know prominent personalities in the field. Part of the course will be conducted practically. Students will try different approaches when conducting a lesson or workshop using the principles of DV. Educators will offer them many methods and techniques of DV.
Learning outcomes
Student after completing the subject:
- knows the basics of the field of drama education, its starting points and basic principles, methods and techniques;
- orients himself in historical contexts, important dates and events related to the field, is aware of prominent figures in the field;
- has practical experience with different approaches when conducting a lesson or workshop using the principles of the field

  • 1. Introduction to the issues of the seminar and familiarization with the basic principles of DV.
  • 2. Historical contexts of the establishment of the field.
  • 3. Personalities in the field of DV and literature.
  • 4. DV methods and techniques and their division.
  • 5. Association of drama centers of the Czech Republic and its members. Community centers. Theater lecturer.
  • 6. Personality of the lecturer (knowledge, skills, competence).
  • 7. Attending a DV lesson in practice 1.
  • 8. Reflection of the seen.
  • 9. Attending another DV lesson in practice 2.
  • 10. Reflection of the seen.
  • 11. Preparation of own DV lesson and discussion of the preparation.
  • 12. Implementation of own lesson with a group.

Active approach. Participation in practical drama lessons. Elaboration of tasks assigned by the teacher during the semester. Written preparation of one teaching lesson of drama education according to the parameters specified by the teacher.
