Course objectives
Are you interested in how artificial intelligence can affect your work or your life? Do you want to learn more about what artificial intelligence means, how it is researched and what its practical uses are? Do you want to understand how artificial intelligence will develop in the coming years and how it will affect our lives? The Elements of AI course was prepared by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki. It aims to familiarize the public with artificial intelligence and show what can and cannot be achieved through it. In addition, participants of this course, which combines theory with practical tasks, will learn how to start creating methods based on artificial intelligence. The course can be taken at your own pace.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will understand the concepts of autonomy and adaptability in the context of artificial intelligence. They will understand the principles of the Turing test and its relevance to AI. They will learn to formulate real problems in such a way that they are suitable for solving using search techniques. Gain a basic understanding of neural networks and their structure. They will learn about the technical methods that form the basis for neural networks. They will realize the difficulty of predicting the future and expected developments in the field of AI. They will understand the main social impacts of artificial intelligence, including the issue of algorithmic bias and content generated by artificial intelligence.
