- Course objectives
- In this course we deal with computer networks. The goal is to get familiar with the concept and the architecture of computer networks including wireless networks, their types, common protocols, network devices, techniques of network management.

Protocols stacks, TCP/IP model
Physical transfer characteristics, transfer paths
Local networks - Ethernet: frames, cables, half and full duplex transfer

Network and transport layer functions, IPv4, IPv6, TCP connection
Application protocols, network services, DNS
Network addresses and routing
WAN and MAN networks (MPLS, SONET/SDH), access networks (ADSL, VDSL)
