- Course objectives
- The seminar examines the entire issue of theater dramaturgy both from the point of view of theory, but above all from the point of view of ordinary theater practice. He understands dramaturgy primarily as the art of reading a dramatic text, and therefore focuses on developing the ability to understand and deal with it from the point of view of preparing a theatrical production.

- An essay on a given topic relating to a selected dramatic text.
- Syllabus
- 1. Definition of theatrical dramaturgy in the context of the European Judeo-Christian tradition.
- 2. Brief outline of the development and transformation of dramaturgy in connection with the development of modern interpretive theatre.
- 3. Analysis of the relationship of the playwright in contemporary theater culture with a focus on Czech theater practice.
- 4. Analysis of the dramaturg's relationship in contemporary theater culture with a focus on Czech theater practice.
- 5. Analysis of the director's relationship in contemporary theater culture with a focus on Czech theater practice.
- 6. Analysis of the actor's relationship in contemporary theater culture with a focus on Czech theater practice.
- 7. Searching for the mission of theatrical dramaturgy and its place in the middle of the process of production and culture in general.
- 8. Developing the art of reading a dramatic text - an insight into the principles of interpretation.
- 9. Developing the art of reading a dramatic text - definition of the concept.
- 10. Simulation of the work of a theater dramaturg in a repertory theater (season concept, selection of an individual title).
- 11. Simulation of the work of a theater dramaturg in a repertory theater (choice of a director, search for a directing-dramaturgical concept, editing and shortening of a play).
- 12. Simulation of the work of a theater dramaturg in a repertory theater (choosing the cast, the art of watching and analyzing the work of the director and actors during the preparation of the production, preparing the theater program, writing annotations, supervising reruns, etc.).
