Je podán výklad stavových rovnic superhusté látky, jež určují strukturu bílých trpaslíků a neutronových hvězd. Jsou diskutovány zákadní zákony obecné teorie relativity potřebné k určení struktury neutronových hvězd a bílých trpaslíků. Jako příklad jsou řešeny obecně relativistické polytropy.
