Course objectives
This course introduces field of Autonomous systems in terms of agent theory and multi-agent systems and also with their architecture and functionality with regard to post-modular architectures of agents and multi-agent systems, robots and their society. Furthermore introduces to other scopes of artificial intelligence which are closely related and are necessary to understanding of the field of agents and multi-agent systems, e.g. reactive and deliberative robots, sociorobotics, etc. The course is also donated to some social, ethics and political problems related to development of autonomous intelligent systems and technologies.
Syllabus
  • 1. Agents, their role, types and properties. What is autonomous system?
    2. Behavior of agents, the agent as an autonomous unit
    3. Architecture, functionality of agents
    4. Multi-agent systems, their role, behavior and emergence. Cooperation, communication of agents, messages.
    5. Closely related fields to autonomous systems, robotics and artificial intelligence
    6. Reactive and deliberative agents, MAS architectures
    7. Related problems for development of intelligent systems - political, ethical and social aspects.
