- Course objectives
- The aim of this seminar is to introduce the basic problematics of archaeological religious studies. The introductory lessons will outline the works of the Czech archeo-religious studies and also the students will extend and practise the basic terminology. They will also learn about the theoretical development models of the religious systems in particular primeval periods. On this basis, a further individual work with students will be evolved, especially within particular prehistoric periods, starting from the Paleolithic period and ending by the Migration period.

- 1 / Selected Chapters from the history of Czech and European archeoreligionistiky;
2 / Basic characteristics of religion: Palaeolithic and Mesolithic , Neolithic, Eneolithic, Bronze Age, Middle Bronze Age, the Late Bronze Age , Iron Age , ancient Celts, ancient Germans.
3 / Cult and religion of the Roman Empire and their close relationship with Central Europe.
4 / Problems burial rite in relation to religion.
5 / Cult places in the earlier prehistory (Palaeolithic to Iron Age) . Cult places in the younger Prehistory ( crate until the end of the migration of nations).
6 / Priests and leaders of the cult in the earlier prehistory (Palaeolithic to Iron Age ).
7 / Priests and leaders of the cult in the later prehistory (crate until the end of the migration of nations ).
8 / Zoomorphic decoration and sculpture in the primordial religion .
9 / Anthropomorphic decor and sculpture in the primordial religion.
10 / Decorative motif nezoomorfního and neantropomorfního character and their relationship to religion.
11 / Cult objects and tools in prehistoric times.
12 / Sun symbolism and its derivatives ( solar barge, the sun disc, etc.) in the primordial religion.
