Course objectives

Bring on contemporary issues of construction and operation of automated systems that represent the mainstream of the development of information and library services on an international scale and form global information industry. To get acquainted with the main types of these systems, their architecture, organizational structure, functional and economic aspects of their operation. Based on an analysis of past developments and the current status of services operated formulate some ideas for further development of the global information industry.

• 1. Informační průmysl a jeho základní architektura
  2. Moderní informační instituce a organizace spojené s rozvojem informačního průmysl
  3. Podmínky zpřístupňování informací - historický i současný pohled
  4. Charakteristika změn v přenosu a šíření informací v moderní společnosti
  5. Digitální a elektronická revoluce
  6. Světové systémy informačních služeb - základní pojmy, podstata, členění, funkce
  7. Databázová centra - obecná charakteristika, organizační model provozu, funkce, nabídka informačních služeb
  8. Světové systémy informačních služeb - systémy dodávání dokumentů, služby OA
  9. Významní informační zprostředkovatelé - ISI, EBSCO, Proquest, CSA, národní informační střediska, národní knihovny, aj.
