- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquire basic overview of Celtic numismatics. It's all about the performance of a specific and very important type of spring that allows the monitoring of trade, production technology and long-distance contacts. Coins also allow social relations and social diversity of communities Latene period.
- Syllabus
- 1 / Introduction to the La Tene period . The chronological systems and basic characteristics of material culture. Central European Celts in the light of written sources.
2 / Celtic numismatics - Introduction. History and research foundations terminology and typology. Characteristics kinds of sources - finds and collections. Defining the bójského territories in Central Europe.
3 / The origins of Celtic coinage in Central Europe. Coinage of Philip II. and Alexander III. Macedon. Celtic expansion into the ancient world. Historical assumptions Celtic coinage. The oldest types bójských coins.
4 / Central Senior Phase (bójského) coinage (half of the third to second third of the 2nd century BC). Sales and production centers run LC1 - C2 (Němčice over Hana, Roseldorf, Nowa Cerekvia) and coin production.
5 / Bójské coinage term LC1 - C2 in the country. Mince the side aa series of interpretations.
6 / Celtic coinage in the Czech lands during the strongholds (LTC2/D1). Coin production at the oppidum Stradonice , Třísov, Envy, Old settlement. nterpretace treasure of gold coins- Podmoky, Stradonice, Old Cologne.
7 / Bratislava oppidum ( LTD1/D2 ) and epilogue bójského coinage. Chronology of coin type Biatec . Historical interpretation Bratislava coinage - relations to the Roman empire and the decline after the defeat of Burevsitou.
