- Course objectives
- The course follows the development of American short story of the 19th and 20th centrury. It introduces the works of the most influential representatives of the genre. The main emphasis is placed on the practical text analysis, rather than theory. The subject reflects the pluralistic nature of American short story, including realistic, detective, horror, feminist or postmodern texts. 1. Washington Irving 2. Ambrose Bierce 3.
