Course objectives
The cycle of lectures and seminars is dedicated to an overview of Italian literature from the 13th to the 15th century. The lectures aim to characterize a period from a literary, historical and social point of view and to present the main authors of the period. The seminars focus on an analysis of a series of texts. The course programme is freely completed by the course of Italian literature in film 1.

  • 1. Introduzione sulle origini. Il `200: la letteratura religiosa e didattica
    2. Le origini della poesia d`arte: dalla Scuola siciliana al Dolce stil nuovo
    3. L`antitesi della lirica illustre: il realismo, la giocosita' e la letteratura di viaggio
    4. Dante Alighieri: la trattatistica, la lirica e la Divina commedia
    5. I classici del `300: Petrarca
    6. I classici del `300: Boccaccio e i "minori" del Trecento
    7. L`umanesimo. La nascita delle Accademie. La corte di Lorenzo de` Medici.
