Course objectives
This course introduces the overview of the most influential literary critical schools in the 20th century. Students will be acquainted with their various approaches towards terminology and methodology used for text analysis. The course will cover not only the traditional methods introduced by formalist and structuralist critics, but will also pay attention to modern approaches to text, such as gender and ethnic studies.

Regular attendance to the seminars, presentation/essay and a successful completion of a written test which would prove the students` ability to apply theoretical background upon texts.
